LEGO™ can fit in to the curriculum in many ways; it can be used to tell stories and build scenarios, to explore art and design, to bring understanding of simple engineering principles or practical mathematics.

We can offer a range of activities to schools and homeschool groups. We can run a post-SATS fun session for your Year 6’s, teach your Year 5’s about gears and levers or give KS1 classes a chance to explore a theme.

We have worked with a number of schools across Bristol, North Somerset and BANES to provide sessions for themes including:

The History of LEGO™

As well as having LEGO™ elements from all eras available for building, we have a collection of historic LEGO™ items that we can bring to display and discuss.

Vehicles of the Future

Children can build vehicles of all types - real and imagined - which acts as a point for discussion: ‘where would this be used?’, ‘how is it powered?’, ‘what might it carry?’.

Vehicles of the Future - what are they for, how do they work, how are they powered?

Vehicles of the Future - what are they for, how do they work, how are they powered?

Towns and cities

Is your class looking at how towns and cities develop, what people need in a town, boats and harbours, architecture or building strong walls? We can use the basic premise of ‘Build a town’ to think about different aspects of what is around us.

Habitats

Children can use the LEGO™ to create suitable places for creatures - real or imaginary - to live. What might a horse need to be happy, where do insects like to live?

Gears and levers

We can run a session using simple models to look at concepts such as ‘gearing up and gearing down’ or ‘levers’ with LEGO Technic elements.
